One Thing 8/31/23 The presence of Jesus changes everything

The presence of Jesus changes the nature of every situation. Because Jesus had been invited to the wedding at Cana, He was there to make a difference when the host bridegroom ran out of wine. What would’ve happened if Jesus had not been there? Absolutely nothing other than the problem would have dictated the narrative of the moment. Obviously, the good news was that Jesus was in the room. By the way, Jesus is the good news. He is always the gospel. Because He was in the room, the problem became an opportunity for the narrative in the situation to be the glory of God. John 2:11 reveals the “truth” that Jesus brought to the moment; “This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.” Because Jesus was present, the glory – the presence and nature – of God was revealed and prevailed.

As Christians, we house the presence of Jesus, and therefore, every situation we find ourselves in is an opportunity for us to experience the prevailing glory of God in that moment. Colossians 1:27 says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 3:3 says, “When Christ who is your life is manifested – in every situation – we will be revealed with Him in glory.”, You and I can walk into every situation confident that Jesus is there, prepared to manifest His glory as the prevailing reality in us and in the situation.
