I’ve been meditating a lot about Jesus’ statement in John 8 about being the light of the world, and the light of life. Here is the whole verse. Again therefore Jesus spoke to them saying (repeatedly), “I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.” My goodness, we could spend forever talking about this. Light is truth, the reality realm of God, and when we are walking in His presence He gives light (Truth; God’s reality) not just to our lives but to every situation in our life. The awesome thing about that is, as I’m sure you know, the truth accomplishes something powerful; it’s sets us free. Again, there are so many things we could say about this that are so life transforming, but here is a practical one; if you are in a dark place, or are facing some situation that is full of darkness, then get in the presence of Jesus until you get His light on the situation. Darkness is confusing, and scary. When you are in a dark place or facing some dark situation it’s hard to make sense of what’s going on. The Psalms says that in His light, we shall see light, therefore stay in His presence until you see light. He said He is the light of life. Once you get His light on a matter then you are free, because you are now operating in His reality realm, where life makes sense and there is no fear or depression.
