S.S. 1:4 “Draw me after you and let us run together!
The king has brought me into his chambers.”
John 18:37Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world…”
Jesus can only be Himself if He is acknowledged as King. If you truly long to be a dwelling place for His presence to be on full display, then He must abide in you as King. He must rule as total sovereign in our lives. At the beginning of her journey inward, from one chamber, to the next, the Shulammite acknowledged Him as King, not just of the world, but of her heart and life. There aren’t words strong enough to emphasize the importance of this simple truth. The one who wants to be the love of our life, must be The Lord of our life. We can only begin the journey into ever inward chambers of lovesickness, and Christlikeness when we’ve surrendered to Him as Lord. I can assure that as we move into each deeper chamber of glory, He will assert His Lordship ever greater by exposing new areas we have to give up to Him.
Remember, we are at the beginning, and if we really want it all, we start by surrendering to the fact that so does He. The more we grow in Love and Likeness, the more we will want Him to take more, because the more He takes, the more He gives into our experience of Him. If you want to experience all that He is, then He must posses all that we are. Our rags for His riches. Pretty good trade.
