One Thing 5/20/14

1 The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s.
2 “May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!
For your love is better than wine.
3 “Your oils have a pleasing fragrance,
Your name is like purified oil;
Therefore the maidens love you.
4 “Take me away with you and let’s hurry!

The song Solomon has three main players; Solomon, the Shulamite , and the daughters of Jerusalem. Solomon represents the Lord Jesus, The Shulamite represents those ones who have chosen to go deeper into the heart of God, longing for Christlikeness, and the daughters of Jerusalem who represent believers who are contented with not wasting their lives fully on Jesus.
The storyline of the song of Solomon is a love story of a lovesick King looking for a lovesick bride who will rend their hearts in total surrender, and waste their lives fully on him. Jesus is looking for a lovesick Bride who will grow in union (oneness or likeness) with him. A hidden one who will live hidden in the shadow of His presence, just like Mary in Luke chapter 1 verse 35 when asking how she could become pregnant when she’s never been with a man, was told by the angel by Gabriel that the Holy Spirit would come upon her and the presence and the power the Most High would overshadow her. Mary said yes, and wasted her life carrying and manifesting the presence and the purposes of Jesus . This is the calling of the hidden ones; to live your life as a lovesick follower of Jesus who becomes a dwelling place for his overshadowing presence and power. Like Mary of Bethany in Mark chapter 14, God is looking for those who want to be wasted lovers of Jesus, who will pour out there all in their love for him. He, for the sake of love, took on our likeness when He clothed Himself in our humanity, and we, as we abide in His love, will take on His likeness increasingly from glory to glory.
