Jn. 11:23,  Jesus *said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha *said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life
When Jesus tells Martha that Lazarus will rise again Martha assumes that He is talking about the final resurrection of the dead when Lazarus would receive his glorified body; but it is clear that Jesus is not talking about the final resurrection; instead He is talking about raising up her brother now. Think about that; Jesus is saying to Martha that he is the resurrection now in this particular situation. Jesus carries resurrection power and life into every situation because He is resurrection and life. Remember this story of resurrection power is before the Cross-Resurrection event of Good Friday and Easter morning. Col.3 says that our life is hidden with Christ, and that He is our life. Gal. 2:20 says that Christ is living in me, and Rom. 6 says that the old me was crucified in His crucifixion, and that I was raised up as a new person in His resurrection. Let that sink in; we are
in union (co-mingled) with the resurrected Christ; the one who identifies Himself as resurrection. What this means practically is stunning. Jesus doesn’t just show up at every situation in my life declaring that He is resurrection; He, who is resurrection, lives in me as my very life. No wonder Col. 3:11 says that the Christ who is in all believers IS ALL to believers. He is all I need because He carries resurrection. There is nothing dead in us that He can’t resurrect. There is no lost situation that He can’t infuse resurrection life into. Nothing can (no sin, no situation, no lost emotion, etc.) resist resurrection. In Jn 11:26 Jesus asked, “Do you believe this.”
