One Thing 2/22/21 The language of faith

I believe that the purest expression of faith are the words “thank you.” For one, those words express a belief that something “IS,” as in “trusting that His grace IS sufficient now, in the moment,” as opposed to “believing that he can, or that he will be,” adequate for the situation, or test.  It also expresses a grateful, not just surrendered, embrace that God is ordering your steps and that He is doing it just right, regardless of what the enemy is up to. The words “Thank you, Lord” are a clear expression of that “perfect heart” that God says if we walk in, He will respond to by showing Himself strong on our behalf. “Thank you” is the language of faith. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says that “in everything,” we are to give thanks. Ephesians 5:20 tells us to “give thanks for all things,“ and Psalm 34:1 says that we are to “Bless the Lord at all times.” Giving thanks one step at a time as each situation evolves expresses a joyful “yes” to the will of God and a confident trust in His adequacy.  An un-compromised grateful surrender doesn’t just yield to the will of God. Instead, according to Psalm 40:8, an un-compromised surrender “delights in His will’ which is different than just accepting His will. When you say the simple words “thank you” in the moment, you are saying, “I delight to do your will and embrace your will in this moment God;” and it also says that “I am totally confident in your present adequacy for the task at hand.” this isn’t reluctant surrender; this is joyful surrender, and this isn’t begging faith; it is resting faith.
