Rom. 8:37, But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Surrender and faith are the 2 feet that carry us into the discovery of the limitlessness of God’s grace, but love makes it easy. That’s why it says that in all things we are overwhelming conquerors through Him who loved us. It is through Him, and our surrender to in Him and our faith in Him, that causes us to walk as overwhelming conquerors in this life, but it His relentless, and unchanging love for us that is the foundation of a life of obedience and faith. Galatians 5:6 says, “Faith is always working because of love.”
“There is no fear in love.” When we are confident in His love it is much easier for us to trust Him and surrender to Him. When we are certain that nothing can separate us from His love, then the absolute surrender and restful faith that releases His all conquering life to us and through us is as easy as breathing.
As an example, consider those times when you fail in your Christian life. Remember how badly you feel about yourself and how it takes a while, maybe even days, or more, to really start walking in faith again; believing that He is prepared to once again express His all conquering life through you. The enemy takes advantage of how you feel about yourself in light of your failure, and through your agreement with him, convinces you that do you have to earn your place of faith again.
The truth is, having fully repented of your failure, you have every right to start immediatly walking in faith again, appropriating His victorious life. Faith is not based on who you are or how you feel about yourself, but wholly on who He is how He feels about you. Because nothing can separate you from His love, then the way He feels about you hasn’t changed. In light of that, you can be fully confident that He loves you the same as He did before you failed, and therefore you can start walking in confidence and faith without hesitation. Again, “perfect love casts out fear.”
