Song of Solomon 6:9; “But my dove, my perfect one, is unique:”
Revelation 4:5; Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God;
Three times in the Song of Solomon the Shulumite is referred to as a Dove, which is a declaration of the believers true identity, in union with Christ by the Holy Spirit. To be in union with the Holy Spirit means that we are hard wired for living in the Heavenly places, and according to that passage in Revelation, we are also wired to burn before the Throne, because of our union with The Dove. We think of doves as gentle, peaceful creatures, and they are; but the Holy Dove also has a heart that burns. When I think about a perfect discription of a Spirit filled believer, I think about the reality of Heaven that we stand in before the throne; “as sea of glass mixed with fire.” Our union with Jesus realized by our union with the Holy Spirit, creates a deep rest and peace in the deepest places of our soul, like a tranquil sea of glass; but also, a burning fire of passion in our heart for God, and the things of God, that cannot be contained, or restricted. Just imagine a gentle dove, with a heart on fire. That’s a true Shulumite. This is one of the things I pray for in my on life, and in the life of others, and for whole churches; “Lord may I be (may they) be a sea of glass mixed with fire. As I operate in this fallen world, may my inner man be at rest, and my heart be on fire, as I remember that I am always before your throne.”
