Song 2:8 “Listen! My beloved!
Behold, he is coming,
Climbing on the mountains,
Leaping on the hills!
Song 2:9 “My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Behold, he is standing behind our wall,
He is looking through the windows,
He is peering through the lattice.
Song 2:10 “My beloved responded and said to me,
‘Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,
And come along.
Just when we think we’ve arrived at a permanent place in The Lord; a really good place; The Lord is there calling us to something higher; something more. In verse 9 she refers to the place He is calling her from as “our wall.” It was their place; a place she enjoyed with Him, yet He is calling her to rise up to something new, and to leave that behind. Jesus is always doing that with us as He leads us to the heights. You may be in a very good place in Him; a place that cost you much to arrive at, and you have been blessed there, and you know how to navigate well there In The Spirit, and you are content, but there is always more. Never camp out in your journey towards the heights of Fullness in Christ, because if you do then that will be as high as you’ll ever go, and there is always a higher place He has prepared for you. Never lose that holy sense of wonder that’s always willing to risk it all again for more. Listen!!! Can you hear the voice of your Beloved calling once again to rise up and come away with Him.
