Wonder-full Things 4/18/2021 Rest on the inside

Last week when Bishop Chuck was talking about the effortlessness of Christ living His life through us, he mentioned rest on the inside while moving forward on the outside.  It made me think about the last year of shutdowns and shelter-in-place orders.   As things slowed on the outside, there was the temptation for there to be great unrest on the inside.  We were bombarded by the ever-changing news about the coronavirus, statistics, how to stay safe, masks or no masks, vaccines, etc., and the millions of opinions on each matter.  As things get more active all around us, on the outside, it may be an excellent time to take the time to check on our insides.  Are you at rest on the inside?  Is your mind racing and unsettled, or is it clear and at rest?  Are your emotions in turmoil, or are they at peace?  Before we jump into a lot of activity, let’s be at rest on our insides and get our marching orders from God.  I think we have discovered that a significant amount of our activity may be non-essential, and it’s a great time to add back only those things God is saying are essential.
