We could be heroes 8/1/11
About 7 weeks ago, the Lord gave me this word, particularly for men, about being heroes. A famous rock group, particularly in the last 15 years, is a group called Wallflowers. Wallflowers did a famous song called “We could be heroes”. The Lord is saying that he is looking to raise up men, Godly men, who will be heroes and not wallflowers. Too often in this generation men have sacrificed the better good for the greater group for their own self-serving purpose and interest. There is an amazing assault, there has been for a number of years, and it is increasing as we speed toward the manifestation of the kingdom at a greater level. There is an enormous assault on men. To keep men being the heroes and the hero leaders that God has called them to be. There is a desperate need in our day for men to rise up and put off all attitudes to self-serving cowardness and be the heroes this generation so needs them to be. Men who are inspired to do things God has called them to do and pay the price that is necessary to do them. A hero is someone from a place of courage lives his life sacrificially. Sacrifices his own self-serving choices for the greater good of others. The Lord is looking to give out medals of Honor and looking for men who are willing to be and long to be Medal of Honor winners even if it means the sacrifice of their own life. Too often we’ve discovered men and leaders who have been lured by the evil one to be spiritual wallflowers instead of being spiritual heroes. Too often they’ve laid down their calling to sacrifice for the greater good of others and they simply live their lives for their own personal satisfaction and their own personal self-interest. We live in a day where the battle is raging at such a level and there is so much at stake that once again heroes among men must rise up and stand up to lead the army of God in these epic battles that we find ourselves in. People follow heroes. People long for heroes. Peoples look for someone to look up to. People are longing for someone to respect and believe in. It’s time for men to rise up to be medal of honor winners; to display the servant heart of Jesus who came to lay down his life, to give his life a ransom for many. It’s time for the spirit of Jesus the ultimate hero and the ultimate warrior to be manifested in the warrior heart of men who are called to lead this great army of God. Without these heroes there will not be the kind of Holy inspiration necessary for the army of God to charge the hill. To take the hill, to take the ground for the kingdom of God. We need heroes leading the way who are obviously willing to lay down their lives for others, who are obviously willing to live a life of sacrifice, who are obviously willing to so love those that God has given them care for that they would give up their own interest. As holy warriors prepared to advance the purposes of the kingdom of God will with spirit filled courage do the things that are necessary that the whole body that the whole army of God might win and not just for the personal desire to look like winners themselves. Our need to transcend this demonic cloud that has drawn men in and leaders in and who live their lives in such a way that they offend and scandalize the sheep, the warrior sheep, that are called to follow them into battle. We must have Shepard’s who will lay down their life for the sheep and who will stop requiring for the sheep to lay down their lives for the Shepard’s.
