The reason that Christlikeness matters more than anything else is because Christ matters more than anything else. In the end, those who are enamored with Jesus are the ones who become like Him, because they’re the ones who spend their life beholding Him. We always become what we worship, and our hearts are always fascinated by what we treasure the most, and what we treasure the most is always measured by our pursuit, because what we pursue is what we store up in our thoughts and our internal vision. Jesus bore witness of what He saw and heard, and what He saw and heard was what He pursued, and what He pursued was what He worshiped. We also bear witness; that is we become and manifest what we see and hear, and what we see and hear is what we pursue, and we pursue what we bow down to. God is looking for true worshipers.
Here are a few of scriptures to contemplate.
2 Cor. 3:18, “ But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”
Matt. 6:19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Col. 3:1, “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”
