Hosea 6:1, “Come, let us return to the LORD.
For He has torn us, but He will heal us;
He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.
2, “He will revive us after two days;
He will raise us up on the third day,
That we may live before Him.
3, “So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD.
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.”
Often, before we can experience real revival, we have to experience being torn and wounded. Understand what real revival is; it is a fresh and deeper immersion into a third day experience, where the Resurrected life of our Lord is released in us to live a life before God. (Rom. 6:9-11 , “For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Revival isn’t about making you better; that is polishing up the flesh and making it more religious; but true vital is the resurrected and victorious life of Jesus being released by the Holy Spirit in us and lived out through us at higher and higher levels on a daily basis. Revival isn’t so much about something happening to you as it is about SOMEONE happening to you.
I have found often that before I experience a new breakthrough into the fullness of Christ, there is a time of being torn and wounded which provokes an intense seeking the Lord, and the end result is being healed up by Him in the breakthrough. God often orchestrates the tearing so that we return to a place of passionate seeking, so that He can heal us by pulling us through into a larger experience of Jesus. The last part of verse three tells us that his going forth, or his ways, are as certain as the dawn. In other words, God uses the the wilderness to posture us for fresh resurrection. The cross always precedes a new Easter, but be assured if you are going through a time of crucifixion, where you feel torn and wounded, he will come to you like the rain with a fresh outpouring and infilling. Don’t let the devil lie to you that you will not come out of this torn place. God has it allowed so He could heal you up in some places that you didn’t realize needed healing, so that He can, AND HE WILL , pour out His Spirit in your life in new ways. Just keep seeking until you breakthrough, and YOU WILL.
