Psalm 42:7 NASB Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.
Revelation 1:15 NASB His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NASB but just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.” [10] For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.
God’s voice roars like the sound of the waterfalls, calling us to discover and experience His depths. Every believer longs to experience the deep things of God, and God’s invitation is loud and clear. God is accessible, and in Christ, He wants us to enjoy His unsearchable riches. He has given us the Holy Spirit, who is prepared to be our tour guide into the deep things of the heart of God. There is a catch, though; the deep things of God call for the deep things in us. In other words, God invites us and longs for us to know and enjoy His depths, but to know those depths, He requires that we allow Him to go deeper into us. Deeper surrender, deeper repentance, and deeper internal healing all result in His depths becoming more experiential. If we are going to harvest the deeper things of God, He must harvest the deeper things in our hearts as well. The Holy Spirit is there to show us all that’s ours in Him that is available to us, and He is also there to show us those things in our hearts that God longs to release us from. It is always the voice of God that causes us to seek more, and when we respond to His voice by seeking more, He always gives us the MUCH MORE. Psalm 42 says when the voice of God’s depths call us to pursue and experience more, and we respond by opening ourselves up for Him to go deeper in us, His breakers and His waves roll over us. He doesn’t just give us a little as we respond to His voice; He always gives us vastly more than we could have ever imagined because the depths of Him are always stunningly bigger than what we expected. Ask God for a drink, and He will answer you with a tsunami.
