1 John 5:4-5 NASB For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. [5] Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Revelation 3:21 NASB He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
Ephesians 2:5-6 NASB even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), [6] and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
By means of the Cross and Resurrection, the reign of sin has been conquered, but in the Ascension, we take our position in Christ as an overcomer who now reigns in life through Christ. The Christian life can easily be referred to as the “enthroned life” because we had been seated with Jesus on His throne in the heavenly’s, and from that exalted place in Christ, we live our daily lives with all things under our feet. The Christian who is living the Enthroned Life experientially, though they are at work in some office, at school, at home, or at play, breathes the atmosphere of heaven throughout the day. Because they live with a consciousness of their life seated in the heavenlies, they manifest the atmosphere and power of Heaven whatever situation they walk into.
In the Revelation chapter 3 passage, Jesus says, “He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” You would not be doing injustice to the spirit of this verse if it were stated conversely, “HE THAT SITS WITH ME ON MY THRONE HAS OVERCOME.”
When Jesus overcame in his resurrection, so did we because we were in him. When He was seated as the overcomer in His Ascension, we were also seated. Therefore, we have already overcome any situation or temptation that you and I will ever face. It is already under our feet, and it is imperative that we see life through those lofty lenses, or we will never manifest the victory that Christ won on our behalf over evil. Ian Thomas used to say, “Everything that threatens to be over our head is already under His feet,” and if it is under his feet, then it is also under ours. Romans 5:17 says that we are wired in Christ to “reign in life.” Every single believer has this position as an overcomer. We are not trying to overcome, but we are seated and, therefore, resting in the fact that Jesus, who is our life, has already overcome all things.
