Retro One Thing 3/17/19 He Sees All Things New

What does it look like to see through the eyes of Jesus? What does this world look like to Him? Does He only see the evil, or does He see more? How does He see people? Does He only see the brokenness, or does He see more? Does He see the kingdom of darkness prevailing, or does He see more than that? I’m convinced that Jesus sees everything from a place of victory and new creation. He said that He came making all things new; so I believe He sees every thing new first, and then He makes it new, or manifests (reveals) it’s newness.

At the Cross, Jesus crucified the old, and it was buried in Him, and in His resurrection, something new came forth, so in a sense, Jesus sees all things through the grid of the Cross. What He sees is resurrection life. As His body on earth, He sees through us the old order and old condition dead, and through us sees the new reality, and in union with our humanity, declares the reality of the Kingdom of Heaven over that situation or temptation. He doesn’t just see sickness; He sees the person healed. He doesn’t just see evil; He sees the goodness of God prevailing. He doesn’t just see temptation; He sees His victory over sin, and He doesn’t just see our weakness and brokenness; He sees His strength being made perfect in weakness. He sees everything through the eyes of an Overcomer, or even better, He sees everything through the eyes of one who has already overcome. This is the one who we are in union with. This is the one who is our life, who lives through us.
