The Ark Brought to Jerusalem
1 Chron.15:1-2, After David had constructed buildings for himself in the City of David, he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.2 Then David said, “No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the Lord chose them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister before him forever.”
David had tried to have the Ark brought to Jerusalem once before and Uzzah died when he touched the Ark, trying to steady it to keep it from falling off the cart. After seeking The Lord David discovered the problem; only priests could carry the Presence. That is still true today; only priests can carry the Presence.
The cool news is that we, as New Testament Believers are all priests. It’s important that we remember what the role of a priest is. 2 Chron. 29:11 ” “My sons, do not be negligent now, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before Him, to minister to Him, and to be His ministers and burn incense.” Our primary purpose as priests is to minister to Him as “True Worshipers.” To live our lives as FIRST LOVE ADORERS, and CARRIERS OF HIS PRESENCE is what we were created and redeemed for.
God is not looking for workers, but is looking for lovers, Worshipers, whose acts of services are acts of worship and adoration. A priest is a perpetual worshiper. Worship is an attitude, a lifestyle of radical affection, and thus radical surrender and obedience, not just a song set in a “Worship Service.” The more we fall in love with Him, and adore Him; the more we become True Worshipers, the more we will be Carriers that will infect the world.
