Luke 9:27-34  (NASB) The Transfiguration
27 But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.” 28 Some eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming. 30 And behold, two men were talking with Him; and they were Moses and Elijah, 31 who, appearing in glory, were speaking of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 32 Now Peter and his companions had been overcome with sleep; but when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men standing with Him. 33 And as these were leaving Him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not realizing what he was saying. 34 While he was saying this, a cloud formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.

Jesus promised them that some among them would see the kingdom before their death, and a few days later the transfiguration occurred. In the Transfiguration, three of them experienced the promise Jesus made 8 days earlier. They got a glimpse of the unfiltered Kingdom of God.

When we pray for personal, or corporate revival, we are praying that we will walk in the reality of the Kindom at a higher level than we’ve been walking in. If you look at these scriptures, what you notice is Glory. He was transfigured before them and they saw His Glory. Then it says that a cloud (a shikinah Glory cloud) overshadowed them, and they entered that cloud. This is what dominates the Kingdom, an atmosphere of the manifest Glory of God. This is also what best describes personal, geographical revival; living in the atmosphere of the Glory of God. It’s like living in The Cloud, thick with His pulsating Presence, with all of the aspects of His infinite Beauty hanging from His presence like brilliant ornaments. This is the Kingdom. This is revival.

Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven is Here. Let’s enter the Cloud and move with it, living in the Glory of God. Notice what they felt. Fear. The exhilarating, devastating, breathtaking, exciting, humbling, heart-throbbing, life-changing, destiny-fulfilling, identity-completing, satisfying kind of fear that comes on you when you live in the Glory of God.

Have a glorious day!

There Is Glory In My Soul by Grace Weiser Davis

Since I lost my sins and I found my Savior,
There is glory in my soul!
Since by faith I sought and obtained God’s favor,
There is glory in my soul!

Refrain

There is glory, glory, there is glory in my soul!
Ev’ry day brighter grows,
And I conquer all my foes;
There is glory, glory, there is glory in my soul!
There is glory in my soul!

Since He cleansed my heart, gave me sight for blindness,
There is glory in my soul!
Since He touched and healed me in loving kindness
There is glory in my soul!

Refrain

Since with God I’ve walked, having sweet communion,
There is glory in my soul!
Brighter grows each day in this heav’nly union,
There is glory in my soul!

Refrain

Since I entered Canaan on my way to Heaven,
There is glory in my soul!
Since the day my life to the Lord was given,
There is glory in my soul!
