Col.1:.19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in the heavens. 21 And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, 22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him (in His sight) holy and blameless and beyond reproach.
It is possible that God’s love is so extraordinary and shamelessly extravagant that “in Christ,” I am not only Holy and blameless, but I am also BEYOND reproach. I know; I know, that in our behavior we are often unholy and are to blame for things and deserve being reproached. By the way, the word “reproach” comes from three words in the Greek language the New Testament was written in. It comes from the word “not” and “cal,” and “in.” It means to not call someone in to criticize, disapprove of, and accuse. A good contemporary example would to not be called into the principles office or the Bosses office because you are in trouble. Also, those two words “before Him,” don’t just mean in His sight, but actually carry the idea of “against His eye.” In other words, really up close and personal observation. What I want you to see is that God has made peace with you and has reconciled you to Himself; and because you are “in Christ,” you are holy and without blame in His sight. That’s how He sees you and how He loves you.
Song of Solomon 4:7 is a remarkable view into the heart of God and how He views you. “You are altogether beautiful my love; and there was no spot or blemish in you.” Because of His scandalous love for you and me in Christ, we are also beyond reproach. Satan alone is the accuser of the brethren. God does not call us into His office to scold us and tell us what losers we are. He is our Heavenly Father who has already proven at the Cross how unreasonable His love is for us. If you are under constant condemnation, regret, and shame, then you know that the voice in your head is not the voice of your Father; because in His eyes you are Holy (His set apart treasure), blameless (Jesus already took all the blame), and beyond reproach. To be beyond something is to be out of reach. Just think, because of His grace, you are BEYOND THE REACH of reproach. He believes in you and is always, even in correction, speaking hope into you life. He gave up everything to have you, and His commitment is your transformation, not your condemnation.
