Col. 2:9-10, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;”
When God created Adam and Eve, He created them after He had created everything else. Everything was ready for them. All of their needs were already provided for. He didn’t create them with the need to breathe and then tell them to hold their breath until He invented air. In God’s economy, a need is proof that there is already provision. Those verses in Colossians echo that truth. Verse 9 tells that ALL the fullness of Deity is embodied in Jesus. In other words, everything the Father has, Jesus has in His Person.
How much power, holiness, patience, peace, joy, love, wisdom, strength, etc. does God have? Limitless; without measure!!! Right? Well, if your are In Him and He is in you, then you’ve got all of that, NOW. That’s why it says in verse 10 that you have been (past tense) made COMPLETE In Christ. Have been, not will be, or might be, but HAVE BEEN!!!! If you already are complete with everything that Jesus has, then the provision for whatever need arises is already there. It’s yours, already. In light of that, every need is simply an alert to remind you that the provision In Christ is already yours, so that you are able to restfully celebrate the fact of God’s abundance for every need, and temptation, as you face life in this fallen world with all it’s demands.
