Gal. 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Did you know that the last part of this amazing verse could be properly translated as saying, “I live in the faithfulness of the son of God…” The King James version translates it like this, “I live by the faith of the son of God…” The point being is that this verse is emphasizing Him and His ability to perform the Christian life, not our ability. I really love the thought of the fact that I am living, not just by His faithfulness, but literally in His faithfulness. I am immersed in His faithfulness, which of course, realizing that, is where faith flows from. Resting in His faithfulness is what true faith is all about. It’s really easy to make faith another expression of self effort; that somehow if I don’t do faith just right enough it doesn’t count. Hebrews 4 says that faith’s only labor is to enter into His rest. In other words, make entering into His rest your number one priority. When you are living in His rest, then you are living by His faith, that is resting in His faithfulness. Simple, Huh?
