2Cor.9:8, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;”
2Cor.12:9, “And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you,…”
I remember a situation one time when someone was facing some really stressful stuff coming from several different directions, and this person was very afraid. As a result of their fear, this precious believer was pleading with me through their desperate tears to beg God to give them grace to walk through their situation. There were two things going on inside of me as I stood before them: one was great compassion because I felt very sorry for their pain and fear, but on the other hand I was stunned, and my heart was broken at how they were responding to the situation. I had known this person for many years and knew that God had spoken into their life over a long period of time concerning the indwelling Christ and His all sufficient grace. I’m sure this person had many times over the years appropriated the all sufficiency of the indwelling Christ, and the ALL GRACE for the EVERYTHING that is IN CHRIST. Yet in this particular circumstance they had forgotten to remember the truth that sets us free, and gives us an ever present peace that passes all understanding, and a joy that is full of glory. They were still being very religious, for they believed that God was necessary to survive the situation. They were pleading for His help, and believed He could, and hoped He would.
God so wants us to live on a Higher Plane than just believing that He can and hoping that He will. He wants us to live every minute trusting that HE IS doing it now and that He ALWAYS IS. You see, you already do have all grace in Christ, and that ALL Grace is at work in you every minute overcoming ALL FEARS and WEAKNESSES, as Christ takes up the matter.
When the situation had resolved itself, this person rejoiced, looking back, that God’s grace had carried them through, But how much better it would have been if from the beginning, and through the whole situation, they had known consciously by faith that His Grace was carrying them through? They could have known victory every step of the way instead of anxiety. Of course, sadly, I too have been this person, far too often forgetting to remember. When I do, may I not be too proud to be reminded by the Holy Spirit that Christ is every minute of every day in me and is in me as my ALL.
