Hebrews 11:11 (NASB)
11 By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.
We’ve discovered that faith, at it’s heart, invokes the ability of God in every situation. We’ve also learned from this verse that faith is simply resting in His faithfulness.
At the end of verse 11 we see something really important in relation to living a life of faith. Notice those last three words; “who had promised”. This is where faith begins. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. Faith is a response to something God speaks. If you are hearing God speak a promise, that assumes there is a relationship happening that is intimate enough where you are actually listening to His voice. The soil of intimacy is that from which the fruit of faith comes. Therefore, the more committed to intimacy with God you are, the more you will hear His voice speak promises into your heart, and the more opportunities you will have to walk in faith.
You can’t believe unless He speaks, and you can’t hear Him speak unless you spend some time dwelling between His shoulders. If I were training someone to live a life of faith, the first thing I would tell them would be to seek the Lord with all their heart; to become a One Thing Person, to live a One Thing Life, and to spend time in His presence cultivating your spiritual ears to hear His voice. The cool thing is, that while learning to hear His voice, you get the best thing of all; HIM.
Have a great day. Be Thankful because “You are your Beloved’s, and His desire is for you”
