Jesus made us a promise when He said “In this world you shall have tribulation.” Interesting that He didn’t say you might have tribulation, He said You SHALL. I often hear people say that in desperate times they are clinging to The Lord. I know what they are saying when they say that, but the truth is, He is clinging to us. That is the reason that we can rest when we are encountering various trials, He has got us in His grip. He is clinging to us. I don’t know about you, but sometimes my grip is not too strong, but His never loosens. Jude 24 says, “Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling…” Such an awesome promise; He is able, even if you aren’t. Don’t be afraid, His grip is very secure.
John 10:28-29, “and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
Just rest, on the inside, secure in the absolute reality that you don’t have to cling, since you are being clung to, by one who at the Cross who already proved how far He will go in His love and commitment to you.
