Psa. 87:7 As they make music they will sing,
“All my fountains are in you.”
This has become one of my new favorite verses. It’s basic meaning is that everything in life I search for to meet my needs and emotional thirst, find its source and supply in Him.
Jer. 2:13 “For My people have committed two evils:
They have forsaken Me,
The fountain of living waters,
To hew for themselves cisterns,
Broken cisterns
That can hold no water.
Anything other than Him, in an attempt to satisfy your life, is a broken cistern and will never quench your hearts desires. The word “fountain” in Psalm 87:7 is the Hebrew word for EYE. In the deserts of Palestine there are many fountains that spring up and are referred to as “the eyes of the desert.” In this dry and weary world God’s Fountains, His Eyes, are always affectionately fixed on us, drawing us to draw from the Living Water of His presence that alone can satisfy. No matter what you might be going through; no matter what your particular desert may look like; know that ALL YOUR FOUNTAINS ARE IN HIM, and He doesn’t just want to be your hearts desire, He wants to be your life’s solution.
