“The word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest. son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord came upon.” Ezekiel 1:3.

I love what this verse says about being in the presence of the Lord and getting a word from Him. First, it says that God speaks to you; He fashions His voice to reveal His heart “expressly” for you. That particular word “expressly” is a Hebrew word that means “to be, to become, I am, to happen.” Think about that; He creates a word that is fashioned just for you. It “happens” to you, and it has His creative power in it. It is a little part of the I AM imparted to you. In His word spoken into your heart, His beauty isn’t just revealed, it is imparted to you. That is why it says later in that verse that His hand was upon Ezekiel. When God speaks, when His life giving voice is heard , as you sit at His feet, He touches you. Don’t you long for God to touch you? Well, every time He speaks a personal word to your heart, He actually touches you with His real presence.
