Luke 17:5-6 NASB [5] The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” [6] And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you. …

The Lord spoke clearly to me today that He wanted me to talk about “Him.” Whenever your walk with the Lord becomes about you then you know you are getting into trouble. The apostles here asked Jesus to do a very simple thing, to increase their faith. Who does not want to get their faith increased? Yet, Jesus does not respond in the way I’m sure they wanted Him to. Instead of laying hands on them and imparting a new level of faith in their lives, He simply told them to exercise the faith they already had even if it was only the size of a mustard seed. I believe Jesus was trying to say to them that the issue wasn’t about them and the size of their faith, but about Him and the size of His faithfulness.

Hebrews 11:11, ‘By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.’ Romans 4:21’…and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.’

Whenever our spirituality becomes about us and not about God then we are missing the mark. If your eyes are on your faith, or your abilities, or even your holiness instead of only God, then the enemy has succeeded to turn you into a self-centered person. We have to keep our eyes on His faithfulness and His ability. If our eyes can be fixed on Him, then even mustard seed faith, as long as He is the object of your faith, can steward the miraculous.
