Acts 8:1-3, And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2 Some devout men buried Stephen, and made loud lamentation over him. 3 But Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house, and dragging off men and women, he would put them in prison.
4 Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.
The arena in which you were being attacked is a clear indicator of what you need to go after, and where your blessing and breakthrough is. It is interesting that in light of the fact that the believers were coming under such great persecution after the stoning of Steven, instead of pulling back and hiding and protecting themselves, they went about preaching the word. They faced their battle by going on the attack, instead of recoiling in fear. By their behavior, they demonstrated a great spiritual principle; that if you are under attack in a certain area, and you’re being tempted to pull back, it is at that very place that you need to press in and go for it. Because the enemy knows that is the arena in which you are going to experience breakthrough, and increase, he is going to do everything to throw, fear, discouragement, doubt, and insecurity at you. Recognize his tactics and understand what is really going on, and run to the fight knowing that victory and waiting increase is yours in Christ.
