Paul’s great theme throughout his writings is being “In Christ.” In Ephesians alone, that truth is expressed 27 times. My favorite is Eph. 1:6 , where Paul said “to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us In The Beloved.” The phrase “In The Beloved” is only used here and nowhere else in scripture.
As believer, not only am I In Christ as my realm of reality, but that realm is the realm of The beloved. I exist in the love realm of God. That is the true reality about about me every moment. Everything other reality is secondary. All kinds of stuff could be happening around me, some very negative, but my reality is that I’m In Christ; not just In Christ, but In The Beloved. He and the atmosphere of His burning love is my environment, geography, truth. It’s inescapable, undeniable, and inexplicable, but the most real thing in my life. I live, and move, and exist In The Beloved. That defines me, not my circumstances, my ministry, or my sin.
I’m SAVED. That means something new now, doesn’t it? Saved to be gloriously lost In The Beloved forever.
