Rom. 11:36-12:2, For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual (reasonable) service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Here is the invitation of a surrendered life; to take God’s will out for a spin, going as far as you can go in it, discovering for yourself how good, and how perfect, and how acceptable it is. That sounds like quite the adventure. Not of a life of just hanging on, and riding it out until we get to go to Heaven; instead we are offered the opportunity to encounter as much of Heaven as we can while still on Earth.
Having surrendered our lives to be a living sacrifice daily for Him, we are able to have our minds renewed so that we stop thinking, and perceiving life the way the world does. You don’t need a new heart you are a Christian; you’ve already got a new heart that longs for the will of God, but you need a new mind that looks for and perceives God’s will at ever deeper levels, so that you can keep going for it, risking it all, time and time again, on Him and His faithfulness. Renew your mind by constantly looking for His will in all matters, trusting in His grace at every leap of faith, and obedience. Start thinking like a New Creation in Christ, caught up into His story, living by His ability, and discover for yourself how amazing, and supernatural God’s will is.
