1 Pet.1:7, Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
I love the first part of the sentence in this verse, where Jesus is referred to as precious. It’s a Greek word that means to have great value, or that which will pay well. That is not news to us, to say that Jesus has great value, but that verse says that He is precious to those that are believing. Jesus is, right now, everything you will ever need. He is ALL. This is true objectively whether you ever experience it or not, but to those who BELIEVE He is of great value, (precious to them) in their daily experience. The wonders of all that He is for us, is released to us, and in us as we dare to BELIEVE. It’s not enough to have something if you never enjoy the reality of it. Remember, hope is wonderful, but faith is more than hope; faith is HAVE. Faith doesn’t just long for; it lays hold of.
