Col. 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
Mark 9:35 Sitting down, He called the twelve and *said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
We are called to live our lives in Christ in two realms; the Heavenlies and the dirt. Renewal of minds happen in the Heavenlies, but love happens in the dirt. Love doesn’t happen in a sterile environment, but instead is blood and guts stuff. It is inconvenient and sacrificial and unclean. Jesus touched the lepers, and washed the feet of betrayers, as He made Incarnational the love of God. He also lived heavenly minded, always seeing what the Father was doing, and always hearing what the Father was saying. He saw reality, and acted from the “What must take place” realm of the Throne Room, and He was moved by compassion to touch the “In the midst of these things” realm of a broken and fallen world. For us to reveal His likeness we must understand that we are too called to live our lives with our minds in the Heavenlies and our hearts in the dirt. Resting in the Heavenlies while kneeling in the dirt; that is the posture we are called to live in.
