Hope is one of the great gifts that God created for us to enjoy. Christmas is such a fun day, and once it’s over there is kinda of a let down that the day went by so fast. The redeeming reality is that enjoying Christmas actually involves more than just the day itself, but is actually an entire season of hope and anticipation. Hope sometimes is even better than the arrival of the anticipated thing. In the realm of the Spirit, hope adds an emotional and spiritual season to the thing you are hoping for. Also, hope gives birth to faith, and faith is already having the thing, even though you don’t have it. Therefore, when you finally have in your hand what you’ve been holding in your heart, you realize that hope was the gift that brought joy to the promise long before you saw it with your eyes. Even if you’ve been anticipating something for a long time, be grateful for the hope that brings joy in the delay. Thank God for the rejoicing hope brings. It truly is the anchor of our souls. Enjoy the season of hope, while by faith you await the thing your hoping for. God is so good that He even fills the wait with joy.
