In John chapter 3, Jesus is talking to Nicodemus about spiritual new birth and the activity of the Holy Spirit in those who are born-again. One of the things that he says is that the Holy Spirit is like the wind, and the wind blows where it wishes, and though you hear the sound of the wind, you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. When you fully yield your life to Jesus one of the things you can know is that the Holy Spirit is going to lead your life, and in light of that fact, it is so important that you and I learned to trust His leadership.
Again, the Holy Spirit is God, and He has the right to lead us wherever he wants to lead us to, and into whatever situations he wants to lead us into. You see I don’t believe that my life is governed by circumstances, or chance, or the activity of others. I believe the Holy Spirit; The Wind of God, blows where He wishes, and my calling is to simply trust Him and follow His leadership.
In Matthew chapter 4, we are told that the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil; and in Luke chapter 4, we are told that the Holy Spirit lead Jesus around in the wilderness once He was there. I believe that as long as I’m living a yielded life, I can trust that the Holy Spirit, Who is The Wind of God, is leading me at all times, and whatever comes into my life, even if it seems uncomfortable; even if it feels like a wilderness, the wind of the spirit has carried me into that situation and will lead me through it.
