2 Cor. 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Faith isn’t blind, it just sees a different realm of reality by which it operates. Every moment, all of us are looking at, (either physically, or mentally) something
That something, whatever it is, controls how we feel, and act. Notice verse 18. It says we are all LOOKING. Some are looking at the things seen; others at the things not seen; but we are all looking, and what we are looking at affects everything in life (oh, and by the way, everything in the after life). Those who live by sight are constantly looking at the facts as they see them. Those who live by faith see the facts, but look at the truth as God sees it. Always remember, it’s the truth that sets us free; never the facts. Truth always transcends facts. Once you know the truth, the facts no longer look the same. When the Disciples gathered in the Upper Room after the crucifixion, they were locked away in disappointment, despair, and fear, as they looked at the facts of what had happened and what was before them. When Jesus supernaturally walked through the locked door, revealing His nailed scarred hands and pierced side, the facts no longer looked the same, and Jesus spoke “peace be with you.”
