Galatians 2:20 (NASB)
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
When I first gave my life to Christ, He also gave His life to me. Of course I knew that Jesus lived in me because everyone who is a Christian says that, and I had asked Him to come live inside of me. I didn’t have a clue why He was there, except that maybe that’s just what He does when you become a Christian. Could be that he was there inside of me to be a companion and to kind of cheer me on. 2 Corinthians 13 says if Christ doesn’t live inside of you, you are a reprobate. Well I didn’t want to be one of those, whatever that was, so I was always telling people that Jesus lived inside of me. I eventually came to a place after two years of trying my best to make my spiritual like work, that I was desperately crying out to God for answers because nothing was working. I loved Him and I knew He loved me, but I was as sick as I was when I started.
In the spring of 1978, almost exactly two years after I had given my life to Jesus, I discovered that The Answer had been living inside of me the whole time. I came to realize that the Overcomer, the Victorious One not only lived inside of me, but was prepared to live His victorious life through me. He didn’t come to live in me to be an encouraging observer. He didn’t have to be in me to do that. Instead, He positioned Himself so that He could share with me His very life and ability. Wow!!! that changed everything. He had given Himself for me on the Cross, so that risen from the dead, He could live His life in me on the earth. I didn’t have to will myself to give my best to Him, instead He was prepared to give His best to me, everyday, from within.
Just imagine the possibilities. What is Jesus capable of? Is there anything you will ever face that is beyond His ability? He is living inside of you sharing His ability with you everyday.
Have a great day In Christ.
