Just like Simeon was looking for the consolation of Israel; declaring Jesus to be our great consolation; Oh!! how I celebrate that everyday, that no matter what is happening around me, I have Jesus and He is my consolation; Anna was looking for and declaring Jesus to be the Redemption of Jerusalem. He is our redemption.
He isn’t just our Redeemer, He is our redemption. Think about Ruth and Boaz; Boaz didn’t just redeem Ruth out her mess, he also was her redemption. She got Him, and all that belonged to Him. Jesus is our Boaz!! He didn’t just set us free by redeeming us with His shed blood; He redeemed us to Himself. We didn’t just get set free, we got Him and all that belongs to Him.
Thank God He redeemed us, but He did more than pay our debt, He purchased us and now we are His and He is my mine. “I am my Beloved’s and He is mine.” No wonder The Holy Spirit reminds us that Anna is from the tribe of Asher. Asher means, ‘with my happiness.’ With her happiness she sought Him, and stood before Him, night and day for over 60 years with prayer and fasting, because His presence was her consolation, and redemption, her true Happiness.
