Gal. 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
We have often quoted this verse in our devotionals, and have emphasized our vital and vibrant union with the indwelling Christ. This is at the heart of what it means to be a New Creation. This verse reveals to us that Christ is actively living in us in “the life which we now live.” In other words, in the world that you live in; that is the daily routine of your every day life, is the context in which He is living in you and prepared to live through you. It is one thing to know that that is true; yet it is another thing to release and realize that reality in your daily experience. Again, in this verse the Holy Spirit reveals to us the “what” that releases the “WHO”, and that “what” is faith. “The life which we now live, we live by faith in the Son of God..,” or as we have seen, maybe a better translation would be, “The life which we now live, we live in the faithfulness of the son of God.”
Something else is said in this verse that is often overlooked, and it is the key that releases faith. It is the thing that makes faith easy. Notice the last phrase, “Who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.” Remember, faith works through love, and abiding in the truth that He so loved me that He delivered Himself up for me, assures my heart that He, out of His great love for me, will in the now give Himself to me to meet every need.
