1 Cor. 2: but just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God
I know that I have been made complete in Christ, but I also have this consuming passion to, not just know that I have every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, but to experience all that He is and all that He has deposited into my life. I want to see and hear about everything that God has prepared for me. But more than that, I want to plunge into the depths of God and experience Christ who is my inheritance and all that comes with that. It is the desire in us that wants to realize personally and to release corporately the fullness of Christ, that cultivates a heart of passion that seeks, but also a heart of repentance that keeps us in the posture of seeking.
I heard somebody say many years ago that “repentance is trading up.” That is a great description of what repentance is all about. But let me give you a simple sentence that expresses the attitude of repentance: “I want You more than that.” It’s simple but is sort of says it all. No matter what is being offered as a challenge to my pursuit of experiencing Jesus fully; “I want You more than that.” I want Him more than man’s approval or any other compromise that the enemy may offer as a lesser love and rival.
Lord, whatever it looks, or sounds like, or feels like, “I want You more than that.”
