Jn.3:29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Is.40:3 A voice is calling, “Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. 4 “Let every valley be lifted up, And every mountain and hill be made low; And let the rough ground become a plain, And the rugged terrain a broad valley; 5 Then the glory of the LORD will revealed…

Repentance loves the voice of the Lord. Repentance is the bridegroom’s friend. John the Baptist represents the message and the spirit of repentance, and according to Isaiah 40 and Mark 1:3, repentance prepares the way for the Lord, and the manifestation of the presence of the Lord, and His glory. The words “make ready,” in Mark 1:3 carry the meaning of “preparing,” or “opportunity.” A repentant heart is a surrendered heart, and every fresh act of surrender creates an opportunity for an increased manifestation of the presence and the glory of the Lord in a persons life. The reason that a repentant heart loves the voice of the Lord and rejoices at the sound of His voice is because whenever the Holy Spirit speaks into our lives there is always a fresh revelation of the beauty, and the ways of the Lord. Each time we hear His voice, revealing His heart and His beauty, there is the opportunity for us to adjust our thinking, (fresh repentance and surrender) thus creating opportunity for fresh manifestation of His presence.
