Song 2:3 “Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest,
So is my beloved among the young men.
In his shade I took great delight and sat down,
And his fruit was sweet to my taste.
Song 2:4 “He has brought me to his banquet hall,
And his banner over me is love.
I believe that the banquet is Jesus Himself. We have been made complete IN HIM. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessings in the Heavenly Places IN CHRIST. Jesus is God’s all sufficient provision for us to live the Christian life. 2 Peter 1:3 says that because of our relationship with Jesus, we have been granted EVERYTHING that pertains to life and godliness. Just as Mephibosheth was captured by David’s grace to live his life resting at the Kings table receiving the Kings endless and bountiful provision, so we have been captured by the grace of God to abide in the presence of Jesus, restfully receiving from Him all that He is for all that we need, day in and day out, in the big and small of life. To live restfully rejoicing in His banner of love over us, as we receive Him as our endless, and bountiful provision is our glorious captivity.
