Song 2:3 “Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest,

And his banner over me is love.
At this point in her journey, she has learned that the two greatest gifts in her life are His presence and His love. She’s learning to delight, and rest in His presence in the secret place, but she’s also learned that His shade, or the shadow of His presence is with her wherever she goes. To know that you are in Christ and that Christ is in you is one of the great truths of the Christian life. Discovering that Christ is with you and in you at all times allows you to abide in His presence even in the most crowded environment. Knowing the absolute joy of His presence; that is The One who SO loves and delights in you, brings great delight to your heart, and the consciousness that you carry His presence into every situation allows you to be at rest in your inner man. In His presence there’s no boredom, and under His banner of love there is no loneliness or despair, and knowing that there is not one temptation, responsibility, or circumstance that you will ever face, that He whose presence you carry can’t handle, brings rest to your weary soul. “Jesus you have offered rest, O give it then to me, the rest of ceasing from myself, to find my all in Thee.”
