Eph. 3:9 and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;
Eph. 3:10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.
Eph. 3:11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,
God lives in the realm of mystery and the incomprehensible. The very idea of the Trinity is an incomprehensible reality for us but it is true. How can there be just one God who at the same time exist in three persons? Isaiah 58, says that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, instead it says that His ways and His thoughts are higher than ours. His very existence as a triune God affirms that.
Three times the word “mystery” is used in Ephesians chapter 3. It’s a unique word that carries the idea of something hidden, or undisclosed.
These verses tell us that God is able to administrate mysteries. Even those Ephesians is speaking of the mystery of the gospel, the fact is that the incomprehensible God is able to administrate incomprehensible things; mysteries that come into our life. There are many times in this fallen world when we go through things that are mysteries. If you’re like me I like to feel in control, and I like to know what’s going on, what’s gonna happen. I want to know these things because it makes me feel safer, like I have some kind of say so, and control. I’m not as afraid when I’m in control, just exhausted. The good news is that we don’t have to be afraid, or in control because the God who lives in the realm of mystery administrates all the mysteries of my life, behind-the-scenes. Administrators are wonderful because they are able to take messes and bring order to them. When they’re done with the project everything that makes sense. Behind the scenes in your life, God is causing everything to work according to the council of His will, and as these scriptures tell us, His manifold wisdom will come to light, and His eternal purposes will be accomplished in our lives, to the praise of the glory of His grace.
