“Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength – carrying two days at once. It is moving in tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.”
The above quote was from Corrie ten Boom and is a great reminder that the Scripture tells us that God’s grace “IS” sufficient; not will be, but “IS.” Of course, God’s grace will be sufficient tomorrow, but we are called to trust Him in the now. We can plan for tomorrow, but we cannot trust Him for tomorrow until we reach tomorrow. Our opportunity to trust Him is in the moment that we live in, knowing that when we reach the next thing, His grace will be there anticipating our arrival. But it is only in the present tense that we can actively love Him by trusting Him.
“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Anxiety is being afraid of what might be, but faith is trusting in the one who is. I know He is the one “Who was, who is, and who is to come,” therefore our past is in His hands, as well as our future, but in this moment our trust is in the one “WHO IS.”
