Hebrews 11:23-27 NASB
[23] By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. [24] By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, [25] choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, [26] considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward. [27] By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen. …
We looked at these verses yesterday, but I want to look a little further. There are often times when though I know that His grace is always sufficient, that I can’t see it with my natural eyes. All I can see is the seen, and the seen tells my 5 senses that there is no answer here. It’s at that point fear and discouragement cant set in. The only way that, in those momemts I can endure victoriously, is to look beyond what I can see, and see Him who is unseen, and give thanks they He can see the grace and provision in that moment. this is what it means to rest in Him; to live by His faith. Seeing Him who is unseen is not a feeeling, though feeeling His presence is an awesome thing, but in the midst of faith being tested, I can’t trust in my feeelings; instead I trust in a knowing that transcends feelings. In the good fight of faith, it’s not feelings we take captive, it’s thoughts that rise up against the knowledge of God. Feelings are great followers, but are terrible leaders. Our faith is in the Truth of His ever presence, and always sufficiency. Seeing Him, by faith, who is unseen, but the great reality in every situation.
