Revelation 6:8-10 NASB

[8] … The Fifth Seal— Martyrs [9] When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; [10] and they cried out with a loud voice, saying,“ How long, O Lord, k holy and true, will l You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” …

These are some really interesting verses, and there are several layers to the truths that are laid out here, but there is one simple truth that I want to glean from today that I feel is very important for us to get. God is a God of justice, and what I mean by that is for the believer Jesus came to make things right. He came to destroy the works of the devil, and to, according to Isaiah 61 “proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,” Jesus came to execute justice on the evil one. This is from Nahum 3 concerning the finished work of the cross and the destruction of the evil one; “There is no relief for your breakdown, Your wound is incurable. All who hear about n you Will clap their hands over you, For on whom has not your evil passed continually?”

Every Christian has a right in Christ to believe for justice against the enemy in every area of their lives, but I believe those verses in Revelation 6 are saying that those who suffer have a unique right to demand justice. In other words, in whatever area of your life that you have suffered, and or suffering from the attacks of the evil one, in those areas you have a special right to cry out for justice against the enemy, not only in your life but in the lives of others who may be suffering the same kind of attack. Justice doesn’t mean simply that the attacks must stop, but that there will be restoration, and increase, in whatever areas that have been assaulted by the enemy. This means that if you are under assault you can go ahead and start praising God for justice, which in the end will bring about blessing that has accumulated interest.
