One Thing 8/6/15

S.S. 4:12, “A garden locked is my sister, my bride, A rock garden locked, a spring sealed up.

Mother Teresa sums up a life surrendered to God’s pleasure in this simple statement; “Give what He takes,  and take what He gives.”  That’s a wonderful statement describing a life fully yielded to God’s will. Trusting that He orders our steps, we can trust His leadership. Jesus said  in John 8:29, “I always do the things that are pleasing to Him,”  and Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:9, “therefore also we have as our ambition, whether home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.”  If you are loving Him in total surrender, no matter the situation, even in pain, then in that moment your life is as relevant , and successful as anyone  who has ever lived, even those who seem to be doing the greatest things in the largest context for God. As a matter of fact, no matter what a person may be doing for Jesus, or at least, in the name of Christ,  if they are not doing it for His pleasure, then you, even in your surrendered moments of suffering, are far more successful in His eyes.  You were created for His pleasure; your love, to Him is better than wine.
