2Cor. 2:14 ¶ But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph His in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.
I was thinking about a number of people I know who are the midst of intense battles and I thought about this remarkable verse. “Who ALWAYS leads us in HIS triumph in Christ.” That is an amazing statement. It doesn’t say sometimes, or occasionally, or often, instead, it says ALWAYS. Wow!! Really? Always? There are a couple of key things you need to see to understand what’s being said here. One, you have to be led. You have to be surrendered to Christ in the minute by minute details of the battle. No complaining, and stop giving Him strategic advice because the battle doesn’t seem to be going well. Secondly, it’s His triumph. What may look like a defeat to you is a triumph to Him. He, unlike us, sees the big picture. He looks beyond a simple skirmish and sees the importance of winning the war. We simply need to trust Him. Death looked like defeat to His followers at the Cross, but on Easter morning they discovered that He had been winning all along, and had now won the war. What is our need in all of this? Allow your self to be led by Him, with the confident attitude of gratitude. Listen to Paul. THANKS BE TO GOD. Don’t wait to thank Him when it’s all over, go ahead and walk in daring faith, knowing that He ALWAYS WINS.
