Ps. 42:1-2, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul longs for thee, Oh God. My soul thirst for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God (Encounter him)?”
Ps. 42:7, “Deep calls to deep at the sound of Thy waterfalls; all Thy breakers and Thy waves have rolled over me.”
Isn’t it just like God. Ask him for a drink and he gives you a tidal wave. He wants us to want him, and longs for us to long for him. His dreams for us are bigger than ours for ourself. God wants to release us into audacity. He wants you to learn to live in the reality of always expecting him to do exceedingly, abundantly, beyond anything you ask or imagine.
If you are longing for more, then God will respond with the Much More. Isaiah 30:18, says, “Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, and therefore he waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; how blessed are all those who long for him.” Just a peep from you towards Him invokes a mighty roar in response, and whenever Aslan roars audacious things happen.
“Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.”
