Romans 11:33 AMPC
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His paths)!
Romans 11:33 TPT
Who could ever wrap their minds around the riches of God, the depth of his wisdom, and the marvel of his perfect knowledge? Who could ever explain the wonder of his decisions or search out the mysterious way he carries out his plans?
There are so many things in this verse that we could talk about, but I want us today to focus on the first statement concerning the riches of God. I love the way the Passion translation puts it because who can actually ever wrap their minds around the riches of God? In the upper room discourse, Jesus said to His disciples concerning the Holy Spirit’s ministry in our lives, “He shall glorify Me, for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you. All things that the Father are Mine; therefore I said, that He takes of Mine, and will disclose it to you.” Colossians 2:9 that all the fullness of deity is embodied in Jesus, and that’s why it says in 2:10, “and in Him (Christ) we have been made complete (full).” Obviously, all of the mind-blowing riches of God are in Christ, but here’s the truth that blows my mind, if I am in Christ then all those riches of God are mine. Again is not like God has these mind-blowing endless resources and provision outside of me that I somehow have to spiritually tap into so that I can enjoy them. No! The glorious truth is that I, as part of my new identity in Christ, already possess and have access to the limitless riches of God. I never have to hope and pray that God will meet any emotional, spiritual, or physical need, because He already has. All I have to do is partake. Every need that you will ever have is a shout-out from God to receive from Him what’s already yours in Christ. The biblical equation isn’t “need, then comes supply;” instead, it’s “supply, then comes a need.”
